Indore Airport Slips To 12th Spot In Customer Satisfaction Survey

The Indore Airport has slipped to 12th position in the latest customer satisfaction survey (July to December) conducted by an external agency on behalf of the Airports Authority of India (AAI).

The Airport was ranked at 9th position in the last survey conducted for January June 2014 period.

The Indore airport got 4.55 points out of a maximum of five to be ranked 12th. Raipur with a score of 4.75 is ranked first on a five point scale in 53 Airports. Bhopal, which was ranked 10th in the last survey, retains its spot while Indore, which was ahead of Bhopal, is now behind by two places.

When contacted, Indore Airport director Manoj Chansoria said, I am out of Indore and have not seen the survey results. Also, I have joined two months ago, so it will be difficult for me to comment. I can only say that I will take the Airport to a higher level than what it is at present.

Each Airport is assessed on 33 parameters including Ground Transportation to and from Airport, parking facilities, value for MONEY of parking facilities, besides availability of baggage carts and trolleys. The surveyors also took into account waiting time in check in queue, efficiency of check in staff, courtesy and helpfulness of check in-staff etc besides courtesy and helpfulness of inspection and security staff, thoroughness of security staff, and personal ID inspection among others.

Incidentally, this survey is intended for Airports that handle less than 15 lakh passengers per annum. There is a separate survey carried out to assess customer satisfaction survey for private Airports in the metros.

Indore Airport recently launched the aero bridge facility that allows the passengers to board the Aircraft directly from the terminal building. However, lack of proper repair facilities results in Frequent Flight delays whenever there is a technical snag in an Aircraft.

The Airport Authorities have written to the Airlines to improve the repair facility at Indore Airport.

According to several passangers thier is all facilitioes are avilable but services are weak.
