Indian LCC GoAir mulls Gulf Flights from next year
CEO Giorgio De Roni says his Airline is on track to launch its maiden International Flights in May 2015. Speaking to the Times of India De Roni said the arrival of GoAir's twentieth Aircraft an A320 in October would pave the way for the fulfilment of Indian Civil Aviation regulations requiring all prospective International carriers to have been in business for at least 5 years in addition to operating a fleet of at least 20 Aircraft.
The launch will be at the start of the next fiscal, possibly May 2015. We are looking at Flights with a maximum flying time of three hours and 15 minutes. So, destinations like Singapore Changi are not planned. We are looking mainly at the Gulf, apart from some other destinations,De Roni said. We are going to deploy 13% of our capacity on International routes. We believe the domestic market will continue to grow and we want to play a role in this.
On the Airline's hunt for a Foreign Investor, De Roni said talks with several potential partners were still ongoing but added there was no rush.
Those talks are not for cash but for best practices, industry knowledge and network. We are keen on this opportunity and discussing with potential partners. We are looking for a long term strategic partner,he said.
GoAir is India's fifth largest Airline by market share operating nineteen A320s on Flights to 21 destinations located throughout the country.
